We are Certified Music Practitioners and volunteer our services to
people within our community who are hospice and nursing home patients or
who experience pain or stress related conditions.
We often find that the spoken word in the form of
stories or readings can add a very effective addition to our music.
It was with that purpose that we created Meditative
Readings. We hope that you will find its be a relaxing and
meaningful experience, or if you or your loved one is in the process of
transition with a terminal illness, we trust its contents will assist
with those important final days and weeks.
We hope this recording
will touch you in a gentle and
healing way. It combines Gary's quiet and meditative style of
speaking with the soothing sounds of Anne's Celtic harp, keyboard, and
sounds of nature. It contains some of Gary's original essays plus a
collection of well known favorites by other creators.
During our performances, I often tell stories and read
prose while Anne backs me with her Celtic harp and keyboard.
Many of you have requested a recording of this nature.
As a result, I selected some of my favorite prose and
combined them with my own writings. I trust you will find the
listening experience as valuable as the creation experience was for me.
Gary
Most spoken voice and music recordings are done in two
pieces. The reader records his/her portion and then it is added to
pre-recorded music.
Seeking a more creative experience, Gary and I sat
together to create this recording. I played "live" as Gary
spoke. This allowed us to work off of each other's presence. I
like to think of this as one of our most creative and artistic efforts.
