Since I am your chosen one,
as long as our love thrives,
I promise you always and forever
these solemn vows...
...I promise to tenderly
place you first
with the morning sunrises
in my heart.
...I promise to gently
bring you and your life,
the silent peacefulness
of a morning rain.
...I promise to lovingly
think of you last
in the evening sunsets
at the end of my days.
...I promise to always
be there for you, steadfast
just as the roots are there
for the trees.
...I promise to patiently
understand you
during the calm, and
even during the storms.
...I promise to remain loyal
in body, in mind, in spirit,
and also in love.
Since I am your chosen one,
just as the moon promises
his reassuring appearances,
I promise you these solemn vows,
always and forever.

Sharon McElroy is an award-winning poet of
the "Annual Publisher's Award". She defines poetry as her "true love" and
has been committed to writing and recording poetry since 1990. Just
released in time for Valentine's Day 2005
is her fourth book, "The Little Red Book of Love Poems". For any

Sharon's poems are odysseys of nature, life, and love. Her themes
range from poetry, love, and romance, to social and spiritual issues. Sharon's
warm, straight from the heart expressions touch the imagination, the heart and
soul. Her words and thoughts are captivating and many times breathtaking.
She is a modern writer whose innovative powerful gift of words
makes reading her poetry a soothing and hypnotic experience.
Born in San Bernardino, California, paths throughout Sharon's life have led her
to live in, and/or visit eighteen states, four foreign countries and five Virgin
Islands. The Air Force transferred her father to Arizona in 1960 and Sharon fell
in love with this state. She claims it is the home in her heart.
She now resides in Mesa, Arizona in a cozy home she has named,
"Casita De Amor" (Little House of Love). Sharon continues to write daily and has
dreams of producing more books and CDs of soothing spoken word recitals with
romantic background music.
